This poor little snowy owl got hopelessly lost on his way to apply for a position at a prestigious school in Scotland. Perhaps he could stay with you for a while? :)

Stuff you need:

  • Any hook will do, but I used an F (3.75mm) hook to make an owl roughly 6.5 inches tall
  • Worsted weight yarn in the color(s) of your choice (though to make his wings the school colors of that prominent institution in Scotland, you will need small amounts of red, gold, blue, bronze, black, yellow, green, and silver/grey, black, along with a larger amount white for his body)
  • Eyes (buttons, or embroidery); I used 12mm black buttons
  • Stuffing (like Polyfil)
  • Yarn needle

Things you need to know:

  • How to make and crochet in a magic circle
  • How to single and double crochet, increase and decrease, chain, and slip stitch (American terms)

If you’re a beginner intimidated by the fanciness of his crocodile stitch wings, I’ve got you covered! Lots of photos are included in the pattern to make these far less daunting.
