A close friend of Harry’s and member of Dumbledore’s Army, Luna Lovegood is known for her dreamy manner, kind heart, and eccentric style. Played by actress Evanna Lynch, who absolutely “is Luna,” according to director David Yates and producer David Heyman, Luna dons her famous Spectrespecs in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The Spectrespecs have one pink eye and one blue, both set in sparkly winged frames. According to Luna, they allow her to see Wrackspurts, which helps her to find—and rescue—an immobilized Harry when he is hidden by his Invisibility Cloak on the Hogwarts Express.

Show your love for Luna by knitting these colorful gloves inspired by her most famous accessory. Knit in the round from the bottom up beginning with corrugated ribbing, the palm and thumb gusset are on one chart, while all other fingers are individually charted. Color changes create the illusion of different motifs, designed to mimic the Spectrespecs’ unique color scheme. Cross your hands in front of your eyes and splay your fingers to create your own perfect pair. Don’t forget to keep your eyes out for Wrackspurts!

Gloves need 1 hank each in 3 colors.
