From the book: “We love working with pearls and large stone chunks, but both of these materials are heavy if used to make a long necklace. By creating a piece with different sections, you can achieve the drama of using weighty materials while avoiding the discomfort of wearing a heavy final product. As always, we are fascinated by the interplay between sparkly crystals and organic materials. By combining these different elements, you can create both effect and comfort: the large chunks-and-pearl section is highlighted prominently by being worn in the front, while the lighter-weight, and smoother crocheted rope rests around the back of the neck. A perfect balance of aesthetic and practicality are achieved in this way.”
