Luvstar sweater
Winter sale for all of my patterns for a week! (~12/7)
No code needed.
The Luvstar Sweater is a top-down pullover featuring charming heart-shaped eyelets as its main design detail. Worked with a bulky yet lightweight yarn, it is intended to be worn with more than 30 cm (12”) of positive ease to create a beautifully oversized and comfortable fit that suits a wide range of body types.
This sweater is constructed from the top down. You begin by casting on stitches for the back and shaping the shoulders using German short rows. Once the back yoke is complete, you pick up stitches along both shoulders to work the front yoke, then join the front and back to continue the body seamlessly in the round. The pattern includes two body length options—a cropped version and a longer version—so you can customize the final silhouette to your preference.
The sleeves are worked straight with no decreases and finished with a 1×1 rib, and the neckline is completed by picking up stitches and working a matching 1×1 rib.
This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters. If you have knitted at least two top-down sweaters and are familiar with German short rows, yarn overs, and decreases, you will be able to complete this project with confidence. Because the heart motif incorporates numerous yarn overs and decreases, even a single stitch difference can be difficult to correct. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to check your stitch counts frequently while working the motif rows.
The pattern offers three size options, and you can choose the size that best matches your personal gauge and intended fit.
I hope you enjoy creating and wearing your wonderfully oversized Luvstar Sweater, and that the charming heart-filled motifs bring you joy throughout the knitting process.
