My love for knitting combined with my love for the circus arts has led to this – the first in a series of circus inspired patterns. The lyra, or aerial hoop, is a steel ring in which the aerialist moves above the crowds, performing amazing feats of strength and flexibility. These legwarmers were inspired by the types of garments I see aerialist warm up and train in on a regular basis, and that’s what I love – the ordinary, achievable act of warming up and learning something new. Whether you dance, fly, or just want to add something cute to your wardrobe, these legwarmers are totally achievable to even a new knitter.
