The name for this pawn shop / serape came about because my daughter felt like some of the stitches looked like a macaroni!

Approx 42” arm span, 28” in lengrh

This is a rectangle poncho. It is crocheted all in one piece without any sewing, putting in the neck opening and continuing on the other side. Use it as a poncho, as a cover-up or serape. Use a cotton blend, for cover up, use wool or acrylic for poncho.
I used 2 Caron Jumbo ombre, added a stripe of white, but any worsted weight, medium, #4 yarn would work. You will need approx 1600 yds. (Just a reminder, I made two of these. The first one was using Caron big cakes, and that yarn is a slightly thinner #4 yarn then the Caron Jumbo ombre and there was about an inch difference because of that in measurements of finished ponchos.)

(This pattern, for the most part, is a dense stitch pattern. One tester did not like the drape of her finished garment. If you are a tight crocheter you need to go up one or two hook sizes just because of this tighter stitch pattern for you will not get the drape that you want. I made two different ponchos, one was a little bit thicker medium weight #4 yarn and it made a difference!)

Crochet in third and front loop= Crocheting in third and front loop, or back and 3rd loop=Crochet in back and third loop (insert your hook into back loop, tilt your work toward you and you will see on the back side of your work a smaller half bar/loop underneath. Insert your hook into that stitch as well. This gives your stitch a little bit more stability than using the back loop only. The third and front loop will be on the front side of your work. So tilt your work away from you to see the small bar beneath the front loop. Insert your hook into the third loop first and up into the front loop and crochet your stitch.)
