The Madhukara brioche hat was designed specifically with our upcoming yoga and yarn retreat in mind. The incredibly talented Marta Nguyen of Star Seed Yarn dyed a couple custom colors for us inspired by the stunning landscapes of Marfa, TX. The beautiful speckled blue, ‘Skyscapes’, mirrors the blue of the West Texas sky and ‘Tumbleweed’ matches the warm earth of the surrounding mesas. We are so fortunate to have her yarn featured during our yoga and yarn retreat in Marfa, TX.

We love knitting brioche but wanted to try something a little different. So when I discovered the honeycomb brioche stitch, I thought it would make a great hat. And I love the high contrast ribbing and how it really shows off the beauty of the yarn.

The word ‘Madhukara’, means honey maker in Sanskrit, so we thought it was the perfect name for this honeycomb hat design.
