I have been making these gorgeous modern pixie bonnets for my daughter for the past 18 months and have decided to share them with the world. This pattern is for a vintage with a twist Maeve stitch pixie bonnet.

There is a free download tutorial for Maeve stitch on Ravelry.

Sizes: 2-7yrs

The bonnet is made to fit from two to aprox 7yrs old. It is a generous fit on a 2yr old and a snug fit at 7. If you would like to make it a snugger fit on a smaller child use a hook size half a size smaller than you gauge swatch size.
2-7yrs: approximate size.
The finished bonnet is 20cm high. 25cm wide

Yarn: 8ply/DK weight yarn of cotton, wool or a soft blend. You will require approximately 2x50gm balls dependant on gauge.
Example yarns: Lincraft Cotton, Bendigo Woollen Mills

Hook: Size 4AU/G6US/8UK or whichever you need to achieve gauge.

Supplies: a button, stitch markers x2 and a yarn needle

Easy basic level pattern, American terminology. You will need knowledge of basic crochet stitches such as HDC, DC, and invisible decreases. Pattern uses Chainless foundation DC.

Pattern is comprehensive and uses photo instructions. This particular pattern has not been sent to testers to ensure it is correct.
