Spring is the time of nature’s awakening. Every year I am amazed anew by the incredible colours and shapes of plants starting to bloom and new life being formed everywhere you look. These socks were inspired by magnolia trees and the main lace pattern resembles their beautiful blossoms with the beads adding the effect of drops of dew in the early morning.

The socks are knit cuff down with heel flap and gusset. The lace pattern is continued onto the heel flap. For an extra bit of sparkle, small beads may be worked into the lace pattern using a slender crochet hook.

The pattern includes three sizes: Women’s S, M and L to fit leg circumference 18 (20.5, 23) cm 7 (8, 9)“. Leg length including heel results in 22 cm (8.5”) when knit as given in the pattern. Foot length is adjustable.

You can choose to work the lace pattern either from the charts or the written instructions.

Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, darning needle; 108 beads in size 6/0; slender crochet hook (small enough to fit through the beads).
