Maid of the River is a toe up sock pattern with a short row heel. It has a winding cable up the centre of the sock, with a simple lacy pattern either side of the cable, representing the plants on the river bank. The pattern is fully charted, with written instructions for the toe, heel and cuff.

It is designed to fit a medium (approx. 20-22cm) ankle and large (approx. 24-26cm) ankle. The sample socks in the photographs are the larger size, and are knit in a 75% merino/25% nylon blend fingering weight yarn from Hedgerow Yarns.
