Maine draft stopper

Knitting
Scenic Turnout bulky handspun
Super Bulky (5-6 wpi) ?
US 10½ - 6.5 mm
90 - 120 yards (82 - 110 m)
The width of a standard door

Scenic Turnout yarn is not in Ravelry’s database. It’s my own yarn. Any bulky or super bulky will do.

This is a great project for beginning hand spinners! The draft stopper is knit really tight on the 10 1/2 needle so the balsam needles don’t fall out (and they don’t!) Lumpy bumpy and slubby nubbly yarns are a-okay here!

Sorry - this pattern is no longer available online, but here’s the quick and dirty version:

Super Bulky yarn (approx 2.5 sts per inch) CO 20 sts on DPs & k in round for 36”. Sew one end. Fill w/ balsam and small rocks (for weight). Sew other end. That’s it.

Wanna get fancy? Do a provisional cast on and don’t cast off. Kitchener stitch the beginning and end. Make fatter or thinner or longer or narrower. This is one heckuva easy pattern! Cheers!
