Maisy is a cable and lace beret. It features a cabled band with the hat body emerging from stitches picked up along the side of the band.

Currently there is only one size.

Materials Needed:
-Aran Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver.)
-US 6 Needles
-US 8 DPNs (Set of 5)
-US 8 16 in circular needle
-US 8 24 in circular needle
-Stitch markers
-Scissors
-Yarn Needle
-Two small buttons or one large button (optional)

Gauge:
1 Cable repeat (6 rows x 8 sts)= 1 in. x 1 in.

I used less than a skein of yarn to complete this.

EDIT!
Edit as of 8-10-14:
This has been edited to clarify where to change needles. (Thank you, WhenPigsKnit, for bringing this to my attention)
Set up for hat body:
With the final stitch of the cabled band still on the needle, pick up 59 sts using US 8 16 inch needles. (60 sts on the needle)
-Increase round: Place marker at beginning of round, Kfb, * repeat to end of round. (120 sts)
-Set up round: Using US 8, 24 inch needles: Knit all sts.
