Representing “earth”, this shawl is the 2nd in my “Elements Shawl Series”.

Flora & fauna are brought to mind in the stitch patterns & colors ~ soft greens, browns & blush ~ knit in leaf, forest & mountain inspired stitch patterns.

“Majka Shawl” is a half-circle shawl shaped using 3 half-hex sections, without discernible divisions between them. The upper body transitions to a light, openwork lower body, with a lace border surrounding the outer edge.

This shawl was a pleasure to knit with the stitch patterns being very rhythmic and easy to memorize. There are stitch repeats within the section repeats so some experience with lace & repeats is helpful for this project.

The pattern is written with charts for the shawl body patterns. 6 oz of lace-weight, extra-fine merino were used for the sample shawl.
