Make your own pet salmonella!

What better way to nerd up your crafting than by making giant microbes??? These are great for kids (always consider safety with the wee ones!), biologists, science teachers, or anyone who could use a little extra science nerdery in their lives. :D

You can knit your microbe to add a perfect touch of science to any room in the perfect colors for you! As an added bonus, the pattern is written so that there is very little sewing. (Just one little hole to close up. Yay!)

Pattern includes easy-to-follow instructions for knitting your own salmonella…complete with majestic flagella!

To give this pattern a good home, you must have be able to do the following:

• Knit (K)
• Raised Increases (M1)
• Knitting Two Together (k2tog)
• Knitting in the Round
• Single Knot Fringe

A note about gauge: The gauge of this item is not nearly as important as using a needle size smaller than what is suggested for the yarn you’ve chosen. (Larger yarn will make a larger microbe, of course.) Smaller needles than suggested for yarn are important so that stitches will be nice and tight to hold in the stuffing. :)
