There are days when we need to make do with what we have. Here is the perfect project for all the leftovers from previous projects, cute scraps given by fellow knitters, and random tiny balls of unknown origin that are too good to be thrown out. Written especially for the scrap yarn knit-along event during Advent, this cowl is a quick and engaging project. The pattern celebrates the 24 days of Advent with 24 coloured stripes, therefore… knit one stripe a day and on the last day of Advent you will have a lovely cowl to keep you cozy over the holidays.

This pattern has instructions for using either worsted or fingering weight yarn, but there are instructions for adjusting it to any yarn and size of cowl. Best suited for this cowl is the yarn you would knit using 3 to 4.5 mm needles.

The matching cast-on and bind-off methods compliment the dynamic stripe pattern, which in turn helps to disguise any inconsistencies and conflicts that may occur when using yarn from various sources. It will always create a unique and colourful cowl from any yarn you happen to use.
