This is my first lace design project. Inspired by Pandosu’s Evenstar Shawl, this is a pi type circular shawl. To assist in the design process, I have purchased IntwinedStudio design software. I have plotted my charts and have knitted the initial increase rounds. The initial chart suggests the gothic arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. The second chart is loosely based on the Victorian homes of Harlem. The third is based on the trees of Central Park and includes plenty of nupps. The forth transitions from the tree tops into an architectural motif which nods to art deco and the Empire State Building.
