This sock is a tribute to the Prairie Crocus, which has been Manitoba’s
provincial flower for almost 100 years, with a simple repeating pattern it perfectly suits this robust plant.

Gender neutral in design, the sock is as masculine or feminine as the yarn you choose to knit it with.

This pattern requires a stretchy cast on method and a Kitchener stitch to close the end of the toe. You will find numerous websites and how-to-knit books that describe these techniques.

Repeating the pattern twice on the calf produces an ankle sock, repeating the pattern 3 or more times produces a mid-calf sock. Note that additional yarn might be required.
