Manuka flowers are small, delicate things that bloom on prickly trees, often when nothing else is flowering. These mittens copy the Manuka flowers colouring, and there are little flowers in the middle of the stranded section of these mittens.

Some of the stranded rounds in this pattern require the knitter to work with 3 colours in one round, and while it is not necessarily difficult, you may like to practise before casting on with your best yarn. Floats that are too tight will cause the hand of the mitten to pucker, so make sure to keep your tension nice and loose!

This pattern is part of The New Zealand Collection which is available as an ebook comprising 20 patterns (some for women, some for men and some for children).
