DESIGN NOTES
Marais is a classic cable tee worked in pieces from the bottom up with side shaping. Stitches are picked up at the shoulders and worked in garter stitch and then the front and back shoulders are joined using a three-needle bind off. Armhole stitches are picked up and worked in garter stitch before side seams are assembled with mattress stitch. The rolled neckband stitches are picked up and worked in St st in the round using magic loop. This design is named after a favorite vacation destination in northern Minnesota, Grand Marais, where indie dyer, Liz O’Brien of Up North Fiber Co. lives and works and where I purchased her yarn at a lovely LYS, Dappled Fern Fibers.
