Mardi Gris Shawl
Too many Hurricanes while proofreading!
The second row of the contrast stripe after the 12 rows of stockinette should not be a repeat of row 2 but should be knit on the wrong (purl) side.
Please make sure that the pattern you’ve downloaded is Mardi Gris Shawl.2.pdf.
Mardi Gris is a top-down triangular shawl worked in Stockinette stitch broken by contrast garter ridges and finished with a striped garter stitch edging with a little eyelet added for extra flair.
I designed this on a recent trip to New Orleans and had fun improvising the stripe sequences.
It’s a good stashbuster shawl, easy to knit and fun to play with colors.
About 400 yards of fingering weight will easily finish this.
After blocking, the approximate measurements are 45” wingspan and 21.5” back length.
