TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN

Links to videos for selected techniques are included. I look for videos as close as possible to the instructions I have written. Sometimes they may be slightly different but still very helpful.

  • Cast-on
  • 2 x 2 ribbing
  • Garter stitch
  • Bobbles
  • Pick-up and knit stitches

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE

  • 1(1) skein Rio de la Plata—Multi Color
  • 100% wool
  • 3.5 ounces-(99 grams)- (140 yards-(128 meters)
  • Small amounts of any yarn for optional flowers

For your hat to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.
