Have you ever wanted a hat that looked interesting, but was a “no brainer” to knit up? This hat plays with the double wrapped stitch technique, but couldn’t be more simple to do, and can be memorized on the spot. Talk about instant gratification.

SKILLS: knitting in the round with double-pointed needles and casting on stitches in the middle of knitting.

MATERIALS:
Yarn: 1 skein of Malabrigo yarn (under 216 yards); pattern seen in “Cactus Flower.”
Needles: Size US 10 straight needles; set of 4 dpns, size US 10.5; darning needle
Matching pin

GAUGE:
Seed stitch: 4 sts=1’’ 9 rows=1’’ Stockinette St.: approx. 3.5 sts=1’’ 8 rows=1’’

SIZE MEASUREMENTS: un-stretched
Hat length: approx. 7.5-8 inches tall
Size SMALL: band length: 16’’ head circ: 15.5’’
Size MEDIUM: band length: 19’’ head circ: 20’’
