This cute baby sweater is easy enough for a first try at a garment, but it is written to include a few skills that may be new to you along the way.

  • includes specific instructions for how to use an edge stitch (selvedge)
  • spells out and explains how to “reverse the shaping” on the fronts
  • spells out exactly how to knit up the stitches for the sleeves
  • includes a row-by-row tracking sheet to help you accomplish shaping and buttonholes AT THE SAME TIME, and ensure your row counts are the same from piece to piece

Skill Level: Easy

Yarn: Medium/4 -- between 285-315 yards.
Choose a washable or easy-care worsted weight yarn. Samples photographed were knit with Wisdom Yarns “Inspire” color 113 (discontinued) and Plymouth Select “Worsted Merino Superwash Hand Dyed” in color 103, shiraz.

Extras:
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• 1 stitch holder
• 7 buttons, about 3/4” (20 mm) diameter
