Cool aquamarine and coppery browns, sailor’s stripes and a Fairisle motif of anchors give this toe-up sock its name.

Pattern support is offered through video instructions for a number of techniques: Judy’s Magic Cast On, Foot Measurement, Afterthought Heel, Kitchener Stitch, Stretchy Bind Off and tips on how to knit with two colours. This pattern also includes photos, charts and written instructions. It’s ideal for adventurous beginners!

Sock fitting is a customized affair and if you fall between the measurements given, you will need to work out the striping sequence to fit your size. This is easily done by reducing the rounds of the toe after the increase section, or omitting or adding a stripe or two OR changing the gauge by using smaller needles.

Instructions are given for three generic sizes with a finished circumference: small:7.5”/ 19cm, average: 8”/ 20.5cm, and large: 8.5”/ 21.5cm for casting on a total of 52, (56, 60) stitches, to fit foot circumference of 8.5”/21.6cm, 9”/22.8cm and 9.5”/24cm, with 1” of negative ease.
Three generic foot length sizes of short: 7.5”/19.5cm; medium: 8.5”/22cm; long: 9.5”/24cm are included so that your sock will look like the photo.
Photo shows the medium size (56) in circumference and long size in length and fits a women’s foot 9.25”/23.5cm in circumference and of 9”/24.8cm long. (A snug fit.)
