Mariposa Tee KAL
The Mariposa Tee, as featured in the book Dreams, is knit seamlessly using worsted yarn in the round from the bottom up with waist shaping and neck shaping for a better fit. The sleeve cast off and cast on is an innovative way to create sleeves while continuing to knit in the round. The sleeve edges are picked up and knit, and then cast off for a neater appearance. The tee offers two necklines, scoop neck and a high neck. For a good fit add two inches to the size closest to your bust measurement.
Yarn substitution may result in a change in estimated yardage, gauge and finished size of your individual project.
This pattern is available in the following sizes:
Bust 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50) in.

How to pick the correct bust size to knit for Mariposa
Here are four youtube videos I created for the Mariposa Tee KAL. These will also aid you in knitting the tee if you did not participate in the KAL.
I promised a book preview for the upcoming Fickle Knitter Design and Zen Yarn Garden book and I have one better! We’re going to be doing a Mariposa Tee KAL in March to kick off our Butterflies, Fickle Knitter Design Vol 2 Book tour. Kits are on sale now through March 3rd, 2013. You must preorder your kit to participate in the KAL.
YARN DETAILS – SERENITY WORSTED (per skein) 80% superwash merino/10% cashmere/10% nylon 175 yds/100 g | hand/machine wash | air dry. Serenity Worsted is regularly priced at $32 but for this KAL, Zen Yarn Garden is offering a discount on the yarns for the volume purchases.
Extra yarn has been included for each bust size to ensure that you will have enough yardage to complete your pattern and also to allow for an extra surprise pattern toward the end of the KAL. We will be offering a bonus pattern to all our KALers to help use up any extra yarn you may have at the end of the KAL. We are also ensuring that you have enough yardage in your dyelot so you can knit from one skein to the next.
The Mariposa Tee has two options – high neckline and a scoop neckline – you will get to choose what you want to knit and the yardage estimates have included enough yarn for both options.
Needles: 24” US 8/5 mm circular knitting needle

Won’t you come join us? This tee will be making its debut at the TNNA fashion show in Long Beach, California at the end of January and don’t forget, as KALers, you will also be able to take advantage of special yarn savings during the KAL!
