Pattern Description

Marissa is a nine-year-old native New Yorker who live son the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She travels to school on her own, knows how to hail a cab, and is familiar with several subway lines. She enjoys basketball, swimming, acting, singing, drawing, bowling, and scrapbooking. She began knitting about three months ago when her mom’s friend showed her how. In this short time, she’s made two scarves, a doll blanket, and a poncho. She told us that she wanted her next project to be a cardigan. “But,” she warned us, “I like to watch TV, listen to music, and talk to my friends when I knit. So it can’t be too hard.” We said that was fine. “And,” she added, “I only really get to knit about five hours a week. So it can’t be something that will take me too long.” We said that was also fine. “Anything else we need to know?” we asked. “No,” she said. We decided that this simple V-neck cardigan would be perfect for her. It’s very easy, it knits on relatively big needles, and best of all, it looks great on.
