I bought the yarn first - Vanna’s Choice in Grey Marble. I fell in love with it and knew it was perfect for a hat and scarf.

I liked the idea of a simple neckwarmer; so ended up making this set, the Marley Hat and Neckwarmer.

The lovely texture on both hat and scarf come from a fairly simple bobble stich, staggered on every other row. This makes the neckwarmer nice and chunky but comfortable, and gives the hat a lovely look, while keeping it open and airy so it doesn’t make the wearer too warm.

You will need:

5.5mm and 6mm hook; 2 skeins worsted weight yarn (aran/10ply); 4 x 25mm buttons.

The neckwarmer measures 26” x 6.5” but can be adapted to any size.
