“Go and embrace your liberty. And see what wonderful things come of it.” (Marmee March, Little Women)

Marmee (Mrs March) was the solid foundation of her family and so this cowl uses a single repeat of the pattern that all the other shawls in this collection derive from.

This cowl is worked flat and a small seam is made after blocking that converts an unusual shape into a wonderfully warm hooded cowl.

There is a video link for the Italian 2-colour Brioche cast-on included in the pattern.

Notions required
1 lockable stitch marker (for br4st dec)
tapestry needle

Note on Yardage
One skein of each colour is used.
My sample used 380m of Light Colour and 360m of Dark Colour. Ensure you have enough yarn!

Many thanks to Nancy Marchant for her work on brioche stitches and terminology, which is used here and to Deb Bramham for her brilliant tech editing.
