The Marshmallow Twist Shoulder Bag is the perfect size to hold a phone, keys, purse and a small knitting project! It is constructed with two internal flaps that hold a piece of oil cloth in place - not sewn in - which helps to give the bag structure.

Techniques required are : increasing by knitting into the front and back of the stitch, moss/seed stitch, single rib, a simple cable, sewing pieces together. Instructions are provided for all these so as long as you can cast on, knit, purl and cast off, you’ll be fine!

The finished measurements are:

  • Height 12cm, plus handle
  • Width 22cm
  • Depth 7cm

Materials required :

  • 3 * 50g skeins of double knitting merino yarn - shown in the picture in Katia Merino 100%, shade 502.
  • a rectangle of oil cloth, 29cm * 22cm
  • (optional) piece of cardboard, 6cm * 23cm, which gives the bag extra stability and helps it to stand straight.

Tools required :

  • 3.25 and 4mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • cable needle
  • 2 stitch holders
  • knitter’s / tapestry needle for sewing up

This bag is available to purchase in kit form from my Etsy store.

Any questions, I’d love to hear from you.
