Left over sock yarn in your stash? This is a small little project on the side to use it up. Mary’s Headband is double folded and knitted in the round. You start with a provisional cast on and first work in one direction, finishing with decreases to form one tip. Then the other half is worked the same way.
I like to wear my headband either just knotted up with the ends peaking out on the sides or I tuck the ends in. You could even tie up your hair in a pony tail with it. Make it longer or a bit shorter, wider or thinner, use up different colours and make it in stripes! Make it the way you want :)

Gauge
21 sts & 29 rows=4” {10cm} blocked, knitted in the round in Stockinette Stitch.

Material
Any fingering weight yarn (Sock yarn) or two strands of lace/mohair getting similar gauge work. Or one strand of lace and one strand of mohair yarn work too-so many options.
Total yardage: app 30g, 110-140 yards-depending on the total yardage/100g of the sock yarn.
Needles: US1 or US2 (2.5mm) circular needle with 16” (40cm) long cable for magic loop or DPN’s.
US D3 or E4 (3.25 or 3.5mm) crochet hook for the provisional cast on, smooth waste yarn for cast on.
Other: Stitch marker, tapestry needle to weave in ends.
