Mary’s Summer Cloche is a light weight summery design fashioned after hats worn in the 1920s. The brim can be worn with a sassy flip upward at the front, sides or back. When the brim is worn downward, it has a gently flair. A random stitch is used to create a brim that is firm and stretchy but does not roll. An airy mesh inset is knitted followed by more random stitching and another mesh section to echo the first inset. The hat shown is knitted with 100% cotton but this design works well with wool blends and acrylics.

The Mary Summer Cloche is a great stash buster.

Pics show it knitted with 100% cotton but it knits up very nicely with all fibers.
