“Matinee coat” for a baby from Stitchcraft, June 1963.

One size. Width at underarm: 22 inches. Length from shoulders, 11.5 inches, sleeve seam, 6 inches.

Made with 5 oz. of Patons Nylox 4-ply, suggested colour Shell Pink 3234. Materials: 3.25mm and 2.75mm (UK 10 and 12) needles, 3 buttons, shirring elastic, scraps of wool or cotton for embroidery.

The coat is made in one piece from the hem to the armholes, then divided and finished flat. Sleeves are made flat and set in.

Fastened with 3 buttons and a collar. After finishing, small rosebuds are embroidered on the collar and fronts.
