This is the fifth in a series of twelve mini knitted pictures, published throughout 2017. Each little quilt is about the size of a postcard and has its own knitted binding to frame it. The quilts are buttoned on to a small wire hanger with a knitted sleeve so that they can be changed for a new quilt each month.
As well as making them as a knitted calendar, these little pictures could be used for blankets or anything else that needs a bit of decoration. The pieces for the pictures are knitted separately and sewn on to the background so they could be added to hats, scarves or bags too.
Spring is bursting out all over this little quilt which is full of colour. It features a maypole with bright twisting ribbons, surrounded by tiny butterflies and topped with embroidered flowers.
The background of the quilt is knitted with DK weight yarn but you will need thin 4 ply yarn for the decorations.
All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, a charity which funds research and supports the families of children with a liver disease.
