MEANDERING
This is a pattern for a hat, a pair of fingerless mittens and a cowl. The pattern is made for the ultra soft Transylvanian merino from Romania, by Moeke Yarns. The meandering pattern on all the pieces is inspired by old Roman mosaics.
MATERIAL
If you want to make all four knits you need 100 grams of both of the natural colors. If you want to make just the hat and the two mittens, you need 50 grams of each color.
US 4 or 3,5 mm needles for the rib, and US6 or 4,0 mm for the rest. The pieces are knitted in the round, use magic loop or double pointed needles for the mittens and top of the hat, the rest of the hat and the cowl can be worked on 40cm/16 inch long needles.
GAUGE
22 stitches and 26 rows are 10 by 10 cm, or 4 by 4 inches, in the stranded knit with the bigger needle size.
If your gauge is different with the needle size given above, try it with a different needle size.
