This is a project that’s fun for beginners. You can use any yarn that you like for the scarf, but I recommend a lighter coloured yarn to show off the stitch pattern better. I used Manos del Uruguay yarn (a silk/wool blend, hand-dyed, with subtle colour variations like the Mediterranean sea, therefore the name).

This pattern is also available in the Serbian language.

I can’t remember the needle size (it’s been a while since I completed the scarf), but I probably used the recommended size for the yarn.
