This was designed and made for a Mythical Creatures swap I was in. If you do a few snakes at a time, then felt/dry them, it doesn’t seem to be too bad.

Any hat will be fine, but using a lighter weight yarn may make the snakes flop around. I chose to go with a color hat that was similar to the recipient’s hair color. Another option might be green to match the snakes.

When making the snakes, look for interesting colors and try to use a variety so that they aren’t all the same. Self-striping yarn makes for some very nice looking ones, even if they aren’t authentic colors for snakes.
