Big meerkat baby blanket.
Ideal size for a pram/buggy cover.
18 x 24 inches/45 x 60cm. approximately.

I’ve chosen this sunshine orange shade, as it reminds me of Africa.
This quite an easy intarsia knitting pattern to follow as its symmetrical, therefore good for if you are trying intarsia knitting for the first time.

Knits with chunky/bulky yarn, with the tension:
14 stitches x 20 rows= 4 inches/10 cm. on 6mm/no.10 needles.

You will need 2 x 100g balls of Chunky Special by Stylecraft, shade 1081 (Saffron) for the main blanket colour, plus 2 different shades of light beige or grey for the meerkat, (full yarn details are included in the pattern), with a little dark grey or black for the eye patches and ears.
There is a little hand sewing for the nostrils, eyes, mouth and claws.
