Meghan wanted her wedding flower to be Lily of the Valley, but with her wedding in October in Minnesota, it wasn’t going to happen. So, I decided to wrap her in her mother’s love and Lily of the Valley, hearts and cat paws on her wedding day.

This shawl uses my own Cat Paws and Double Hearts patterns, along with Lily of the Valley and a Vine with Leaves in alternating strips to create this charming shawl for her. This rectangular shawl is worked in one piece and edged with a simple garter stitch border.

This shawl is for the adventurous knitter. This pattern uses seven different decreases, four knit side and three purl side: k2tog, p2tog, p3tog, ssk, ssp, CDD and sk2p. It also uses KBB, k1-b, yo, yo2 and nupps in the patterns. The lace patterns are written, not charted.

The Cat Paws pattern will challenge you because it has patterning on both the right and wrong side rows. Nupp-style increases, yarnovers and double yarnovers are used to create the cat paws and toes.
