Apis Mellifera: The Western Honey Bee. One of the most common domesticated species of bees due to its proclivity for producing large amounts of honey. Mellifera is Greek for “honey-bearing”, a nod to the species’ talents, coming from the roots melli (honey) and ferre (to bear).

The cowl features a lace honeycomb pattern, bordered by a diagonal rib (which gives the appearance of stripes). Four bee-shaped buttons hold the cowl together, each sitting on their own honeycomb.

Written instructions and charts both included.
