Sideways-cabled cowl, made scrunchy by dropping stitches between wide ribs. Cowl is cast on provisionally and knit flat, then first & last rows are grafted for a seamless finish.
Techniques used include provisional cast on, cables, chart reading, and grafting or optional three needle bind off. Photo tutorial included for grafting cables; cable instructions are in chart form.
Four additional dpns or two sets of circulars are necessary to hold the stitches while grafting. Other materials needed include waste yarn, 3 stitch markers, cable needle and tapestry needle.
