DETAILS
My favorite ingredients for shawl knitting are color and texture! Melt combines garter stitch with playful stripes, two color brioche and even lace to keep you knitting “just one more row” all the way to the bind off. This shawl is knit sideways and the entirety of the shawl is encased in a polished I-cord edge.

FINISHED APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
Wingspan - Approximately 71 (86)”/180.5 (218) cm
Center Depth - Approximately 29.5 (35.5)”/75 (90) cm
Blocking & yarn choice will affect the final dimensions of the shawl.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.

DK weight superwash wool in 3 contrasting colors
A - 263 (385) g/721 (1055) yds/659 (964) m
B - 57 (83) g/156 (228) yds/143 (208) m
C - 57 (83) g/156 (228) yds/143 (208) m

SUGGESTED YARN
For this shawl I chose to use a DK weight, 100% super wash merino yarn. The DK gives major squish factor, while the merino yarn is incredibly soft with loads of drape - perfect for wrapping up in!

A - 3 (4) skeins of LolaBean Yarn Co. Adzuki Bean DK (100 g/274 yds/250 m) in Fairy Dust (grey)

B - 1 skein of Explorer Knits Rockies DK (100 g/274 yds/250 m) in Roller Skate Red

C - 1 skein of Explorer Knits Rockies DK (100 g/274 yds/250 m) in Spindrift (aqua)

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
US 6/4 mm - 32”/80 cm circular recommended
(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.)
