This little wristlet/cuff pattern came out of my reborn interest in Bohus Knitting and the class I taught at the 2014 Estes Park Wool Market. This is the pattern we worked on in class after we played with the sample pieces.

REAL Bohus Knitting used many, many colors in tiny repeating motifs on a plain yarn background, also using purl stitches on a stockinette background to further blend the color. NO slipped stitches were involved. Yarns used were a fine wool at a very fine gauge, and the accent colors were in a fine wool/Angora rabbit blend that added a halo. Together, the many colors and the yarns used created a style of knitted colorwork that cannot be easily reproduced.

This little pattern attempts to give you a taste of the Bohus style in the hopes that you will also fall in love with it and go on to trying your hand at the REAL stuff :).

If you look carefully, you can imagine, a fence, a field, trees, mountains, and finally the sun and sky - Estes Park :). The first one is the class sample, the 2nd was knitted for the DH at his request.

I used a plain wool fingering yarn for the background and a long repeat multi colored singles yarn (also wool) to give a hint of halo. a short repeat multi colored yarn could also be used to great effect.
