Memory is knit from the top-down; it has a gradual v-shaped front that meets just above the waist, thus is very figure flattering. The waist is adorned with a slip-stitch pattern and is bordered by an Estonian Braid.
Note: Estonian Braid - is also called a Vikkel Braid. There are several videos (video1, video2) and tutorials available on line how to knit this easy stitch.

When I was a teenager, I designed and knit myself a very similar looking vest in a beautiful burgundy colored yarn. I wore the vest often because I loved the shape and how it kept my torso warm. Somehow, the vest went missing and I really mourned the loss of my beloved vest. I am not sure why it took me almost 30 years to design and knit myself another one? But here it is, named in honor of my lost vest, Memory Vest.
