This is a pattern for a men’s sized mitten with the option of a flip-top convertible mitten/fingerless glove. The thumb shaping for this pattern is adapted from the fabulous “Give a Hoot” mitten pattern by Jocelyn Tunney. Yarn is held double throughout (knit using 2 strands of worsted weight) and increases are achieved by knitting into both strands of the stitch. To make a women’s mitten switch to sport or dk weight yarn and a smaller needle (probably US 6-8 (4-5mm)).
