This is a great machine knit pattern to make on a bulky machine using every other needle with chunky yarn. Any #5 yarn substitution can be made. It is a perfect men’s gift but suitable for women and teens too.

By lifting stitches a few rows directly under selected needles you get a slightly puffed look to the scarf.

Technique: Work the rows called for in the instructions. Select the required needles. Using a single prong transfer tool, pick up stitches (purl “bumps”) several rows directly below and place on selected needles so there are two stitches on each. Use claw weights as you work across row and put needles into FWP with latches open before taking carriage across next row.
