Marianna the mermaid is the princess of the sea, and she has her own pink coral throne. You could sew sequins onto the tail and bodice for extra sparkle.

Materials

• Any DK yarn in blue, tan and brown for mermaid; pink for coral
• 3.5mm (USE/4, UK9) hook
• Darning needle and scissors

Method

Mermaid: The mermaid’s tail and bodice are made first, in blue.
The head and body are made next and the body sewn into the bodice. The arms are made and attached, then the hair is created and sewn on. Finally, the facial features are added.

Coral: The coral throne is made in a single piece as a globe shape which can then be moulded into a ‘bean-bag’ sort of shape.
