This single wrap scarf is beautiful enough to wear as a necklace - the necklace that will keep you warm and toasty!

The idea for the Mini Scarf came from Debbie, who loved the Mermaid Chains scarf but regretfully said that the original scarf was too bulky for her to wear. This delicate version is meant to be worn as a single loop scarf and is perfect for those who don’t like a lot of bulk or feel lost in a larger scarf.

Designed with a nautical influence and a nod to the classy style that cold weather on the East Coast seems to bring to the resident population. I was living in Norfolk, Virginia at the time and it is hard not to be inspired by the sea, ships, and the amazing history of that area. The Mermaid is the official symbol of the City of Norfolk and can be seen all around downtown portrayed in beautiful flags and statues. Make yourself a Mermaid net and wrap yourself up in the many chains of braids. Imagine you are having a hot cup of something lovely while exploring the ruins at Jamestown or walking the streets of Colonial Williamsburg.

This quick project can be made with the suggested yarn, or any category 3 or fingering size. Something warm with a soft sheen would create this twistable scarf that would be wonderful as a gift to yourself or for a friend.
