About This Design
The Mermaid Dreaming Moebius brings together the mystery of the moebius loop and the watery loveliness of a stitch motif that has echoes of sinewy kelp and frothy bubbles. When combined with a gorgeous tonal semi-solid yarn in oceanic shades, you have the perfect neck accessory for the cooler months.

There is definitely something very mysterious about a moebius loop—somehow, it just defies logic. So, what is a moebius loop anyway? According to Wikipedia, a “moebius strip/loop/band is a surface with only one side … and only one boundary curve”. Well, that makes it whole lot clearer!

The lovely thing about a moebius loop is that it is the perfect shape for neckwear because it has a built in twist that makes it easy to style, whether you are wearing it as an infinity scarf or double-looped as a cowl. And because a moebius has only one side, you are able to knit it in the round with the right side always facing you – pure magic! A knitted moebius grows from the centre out to the edge and both the right side and the wrong side of a stitch pattern are on display. This makes it perfect for stitch patterns that have a lovely looking reverse side, as is the case with the lacy stitch that I have chosen for this design (and which I also used in my Mermaid Dreaming Socks).
