This pattern can be adapted to fit any size notebook, with instructions on how to use your gauge swatch to do so included in the pattern.

Try a little bit of knitting maths to get the perfect fit and knit a fun cover to protect your favourite notebook!

Materials

  • 1 x 100g ball of Cygnet Utopia DK yarn, 290m/ 317yds or approx 290m/371yds of DK weight yarn
  • 4.5mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 4.5mm circular needle or DPN’s to create the I-cord, or an I-cord maker
  • row counter
  • wool needle
  • 1 x button (any size but bigger will be better for a more secure fit)
  • 1 x notebook/ diary to measure around
  • Piece of cardboard approx 7cm/ 2.75” long or a tassel maker
  • Scissors

This pattern is knitted flat in one piece, and then the ends are folded over and sewn to create flaps to hold your notebook securely. An I-cord is made to use as a bookmark, with a tassel shaped like a mermaids fin, to keep your place. Sewing a big button onto the front and creating another I-cord to use as a button loop, keeps your notebook cover secure.
