Mermaid Tail blanket is a simple, cozy and addictive project worked in the Tunisian crochet technique. Each shell element of the blanket is small enough to place all of your stitches on a regular crochet hook.

MATERIALS

  • Yarn: Caron Simply Soft; aran; 315 yd (288 m) per 170 g ball; 100% Acrylic
  • Hooks: regular US J-10 (6 mm) for shells and Tunisian US J-10 (6 mm), at least 30 cm long, for fin
  • 10 (12, 14) locking stitch markers
  • Yarn needle to weave in ends and for sewing

YARDAGE

  • 2 (2, 3) balls each in White 9701 (MC) and Cool Green 9770 (CC1)
  • 1 (2, 2) balls each in Strawberry 0015 (CC2), Mango 9605 (CC3) and Harvest Red 9763 (CC4)

GAUGE

  • 1 shell = 3⅜’’ (8.5 cm) wide and 2⅛’’ (5.5 cm) tall
  • 15 Tss = 4’’ (10 cm)
